Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman for Revolve Clothing

Posted in Your Fashion Fix by Staff on September 11, 2008

I’m totally excited that Gossip Girl’s lead wardrobe stylist Eric Daman was involved with Revolve Clothing’s 2008 Fall Style Guide. The guide has a back to school direction which is totally appropriate given the timing as well as Gossip Girl’s Upper East Side prep school setting. What a keen choice for Revolve. Regardless of what America Fererra’s saying about the show’s catty, destructive tone for teen girls … one thing is for sure – its fashion cues are under the microscope lately and sparking a buzz  that I’ve seen only from Sex & The City and surprisingly never from Ugly Betty.  What’s even better is that  many of the looks are accessible; Daman has admitted to using products from H&M, Forever 21, and brands like Nine West and Chinese Laundry whose shoes often cost less than $100.  I love the 50’s hair and makeup; the old Hollywood glamour of the photoshoot. I’d recommend the behind the scenes video footage on the site. The styling is spot-on. He’s such a talent. I’m blown away. I suppose some looks are a bit over-the-top but in general, you know you’d be so jealous if you saw any of these girls walk by you on the street. Everything the models are wearing is available on the Revolve site and/or in their newly opened Los Angeles flagship store. Revolve’s buyers carefully select some of the greatest stuff from brands that span all types of sensibilities but this is such a different point of view for them. I’m sold! The looks feature items from our favorite brands like Charlotte Ronson’s dresses, Report Shoes, Rebecca Minkoff and Juicy Couture handbags, Costume Dept. leggings … even Posso The Spat. We’re particuarly lusting after the yellow Tory Burch cardigan. It would be a crime not to add it to the FE wardrobe. I’ve officially resolved to step my game up for Fall. Thank you Eric Daman and Revolve for the inspiration.
